BSMD 6 years (Concordia College New York)

Spend 2 years in the capital of the world! – New York, USA. Concordia College – New York's historic campus is just a short train ride from Manhattan, Founded in 1881. Texila American University has signed a MOU with heritage Old Concordia College, New York during this September'2013. According to this agreement Concordia and TAU will come together to offer a HIGHLY FOCUSED Pre medical program in Concordia campus.

Year 1 and 2: The Students will Study for the Associate Degree in Science at Concordia College – New York. Duration will be 24 Months.

Year 3 and 4: The Students will Study for the preclinical part of Doctor of Medicine Program at Texila American University in South America. Duration will be 20 Months.

Year 5 and 6: The Students will do their clinical rotations in Different locations in USA, (Chicago, Washington DC, Atlanta, and MANY OTHER STATES. Duration will be 72 weeks.

Candidates with under graduation (UG) in Medicine and aspiring to be a specialty consultant to keep up with the current trends are offered to pursue their postings in the affiliate hospitals to give their PG examination through TAU.

  • PG Regular program is a unique program offered by TAU, whereby students who have completed their under graduation in MBBS can pursue the MD/MS program through Texila.

Academic Process

The Academic process includes the submission of log books, clinical and formative assessment reports, assignments etc.,

  • Students undergo the program as per the prescribed curriculum including the clinical rotations.
  • During the period of their stay, they will have to maintain the log book prescribed by the university.
  • The Formative Assessment Report (FAR) will have to be sent to the university at 6 months interval.
  • The Clinical assessment report (CAR) will have to be submitted after the completion of every clinical rotation.
  • The Assignment and Log book has to be submitted on every week.
  • Clinical rotations will be coordinated by the Academic Coordinator of the approved hospital.
  • At the end of each year, the student will have to give the exams which will be taken for their Internal assessment.
  • This examination will be given in the affiliate hospital and will be based on the assignment topics that they submit.
  • Student will give their final examination.
  • They will also give Thesis presentation at the end of the 3rd year.

  • PROGRAM CHAIR assists the students in learning the theory and conducting research work. MENTOR helps to acquire the clinical skills.
  • To ensure adequate theoretical learning, students are expected to submit 6 assignments per module. To ensure appropriate clinical learning, students are expected to fulfill the Objectives Specific Clinical Assessment Report (OSCAR).
  • To ensure adequate learning of clinical skills, a student is made to write 8 case reports per module and to provide at least 2 references related to the case from recent research publication.
  • To understand the recent advances and also to pave way to conduct research on a contemporary topic, a student is made to work on and submit TWO Article reviews.

PhD (Research Based) 3 years

Designed for medical students who are interested in academic or research careers by enabling them to integrate a three-year period of research with their clinical education.

Academic Process

  • Students enrolled for PhD will have to identify a Guide having PhD or MD/MS in that specialization with a minimum of 10 years of teaching experience. Co- Guide will be from the university.
  • Thesis protocol has to be submitted before the end of the 2nd Month from the date of registration/ enrollment.
  • By the end of the 1st year, the students will have to submit TWO Article Review based on the topic given by the university.
  • TWO more Article Review has to be submitted by the end of the 2nd year.
  • Thesis presentation will be at the end of the 3rd year along with 2 original articles based on the Research topic.

Fellowship Program

The fellowships provide an opportunity for clinicians and others to return to the University setting in order to explore further in the specialties concerned.

An effective Physician/Surgeon is dedicated to lifelong education and inner growth. Too frequently, traditional training programs have concentrated on high volume and long hours, while "educational care" for the trainee is neglected.

In order to encourage and nurture the whole person, of whom the Doctor is but a part, we have designed our Fellowship Education Curriculum with both theoretical and clinical components-dealing with patients-observing and involving themselves in the overall process of learning-applying in the aspect of patient care and treatment.

In pursuit of such excellence, the program hopes our trainees will learn to become effective and more efficient in the circle of understanding-diagnosis-analysis-treatment and care.

  • Each student will have a Fellowship Program Advisor who will provide online support to the students throughout the course.
  • The students will be guided by Fellowship Clinical Advisor at the clinical site, who will assist the students to acquire clinical skills.
  • Fellowship Program Advisor assists the students in learning the theory and conducting research work. Fellowship Clinical Advisor helps to acquire the clinical skills.
  • To ensure adequate theoretical learning, students are expected to submit assignments. To ensure appropriate clinical learning, students are expected to fulfill the Objectives Specific Clinical Assessment Report (OSCAR).
  • To ensure adequate learning of clinical skills, a student is made to write case reports.

Overview

Texila American University has a continuing commitment to assist the registered nurses in attaining the baccalaureate degree. All RN students will have the opportunity to receive advanced placement credit upon completion of specific courses.

  • This program is also called the RN- BSN Conversion program.
  • This is for those nurses who are already registered nurses, but would like to further their knowledge and upgrade themselves with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Students will be provided training for CGFNS Exams.
